CODE OF CONDUCT Discipline Policy
“Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.” Matthew 18:15-16
It is a privilege to be a part of Thrive, therefore, appropriate conduct while on campus is expected from our teachers, students, siblings, and parents. Our standards for student behavior during class hours are designed to create the expectation that students will behave themselves in such a way so as to facilitate a learning environment for themselves and teachers. We expect students and parents to:
▪Respect each other
▪Respect Thrive/Crossview Campus
To ensure that the educational and enrichment process is not disrupted because of misbehavior on the part of enrolled students,Thrive has established a Student Code of Improper Conduct, specific classifications of misbehaviors and the appropriate disciplinary actions are assigned to each class of offenses.
Violations are grouped into three classes: Class 1 -Minor; Class 2 - Intermediate; Class 3 -Major. These are violations that occur on the Thrive/Crossview campus.
The disciplinary actions are designated for each class of offense. However, the administration reserves the right to impose a more severe disciplinary action as they deem necessary (i.e. a student may incur more than one strike in any given day). Every effort is made to deal with students in a fair and compassionate manner. Our teachers and administrators are always happy to speak with parents regarding student behavior issues. Please schedule a meeting (do not just drop in on a teacher) if you have questions about conduct or resulting disciplinary actions taken. Students are not allowed to debate with or show disrespect to teachers, monitors, assistants, or administration regarding behavioral consequences.
NO STUDENT SHALL BE PUNISHED FOR ANY SUSPECTED VIOLATION WITHOUT BEING GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO ADMIT OR DENY THE CHARGE(S). HOWEVER, IF A STUDENT IS WITNESSED WHILE COMMITTING A VIOLATION, THE APPROPRIATE
DISCIPLINARY ACTION WILL BE TAKEN WITH OR WITHOUT A CONFESSION.
Discipline Policy
To promote order and consistency in the handling of any disciplinary problems with students during THRIVE classes or events, the following procedure should be utilized:
First Step:
Speak to the student privately along with another adult (outside the classroom clearly explaining the infraction and what correction is expected. Make a written record of the date, the nature of the offense and what was said.. Keep this on file with your own class records and provide a copy for the parent and director.
Second Step:
Speak to the student, parent(s), and director. Be sure to reference the first offense. Make a written record of the date and content of the conversation and keep it on file, again providing a copy for Admin. Include a specific deadline for the expected correction in behavior to be consistently demonstrated by the student.
Third Step:
THRIVE membership will meet with you, the student, and the parent(s). A final ultimatum will be rendered both verbally and in writing (agreed upon and prepared by THRIVE leadership before the meeting) stating what is expected. A specific deadline should be clearly communicated both verbally and in writing.
If the student has still not corrected his/her behavior by the specified deadline, the matter will be brought before the THRIVE leadership and a decision of whether to extend one more chance or to ask the student to withdraw from all THRIVE activities for some period or time, or permanently, will be made. If one more chance is granted, the details of the conditions will be in writing and should be signed by the parent(s), confirming their understanding of and agreement to the specified terms. If withdrawal is required, no refunds will be granted and the parent will be expected to complete his/her teaching/service commitment until the end of the school year or until a permanent replacement can be found.
The discipline policy should be followed for nonconformity to any of the student guidelines, whether it is for academic, behavioral, dress code or attitude infractions. More serious infractions may begin the discipline process at Step Two or Step Three, depending on the
seriousness of the situation. In any case, careful and meticulous written records should be maintained for the protection of all parties involved.

We believe that a person’s gender always corresponds to their sex, and therefore, is defined at birth by their sex (determined by their genome). All students will be required to abide by this definition. No pronouns or alternate names will be used.
Restrooms, locker rooms, and showers designated for one sex shall only be used by members of that sex. The only exception to this policy will be younger children who need restroom assistance from their parents/guardians.
In any other facilities or settings where members of the THRIVE may be undressed in the presence of others (e.g. changing costumes during school drama productions), THRIVE shall provide separate, private areas designated for use by members of THRIVE based on their sex.
We recognize there may be instances where members of THRIVE may experience disparity between their sex and their feelings about their sex. This disparity can motivate them to behave in ways contrary to God’s Word and His plan for their lives. We encourage those who are struggling with their sexual identity to seek help from their pastor and other trained professionals who might best assist them in clarifying and defining their sexual identity in accordance with God’s Word.
THRIVE will at all times interact with members of the THRIVE community according to their sex. A member of the school community who wishes to express a gender other than his or her sex is understood to be rejecting the truth and the image of God within that person. Biblical Christianity requires the body of Christ to compassionately dwell in the truth and assist those we love in doing the same (Eph. 4:15).
To preserve the function and integrity of THRIVE and to provide a Biblical role model to members of THRIVE and the community-at-large, it is imperative that all members of THRIVE agree to and abide by this policy. Membership may be terminated for those who do not adhere to this.
